Civil Air Patrol Maryland Wing
We meet weekly, every Thursday from 1900 (7:00 pm) to 2130 (9:30 pm), at the Montgomery County Public Safety Headquarters located at: 100 Edison Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD 20878
Please email our Squadron Commander or Recruiting and Retention Officer (see below for details) if you plan to come to our meeting so that we can wait for you at security. Prospective members are always welcome to attend!
All prospective cadets will need to attend at least 3 squadron meetings as part of the Delayed-Entry Program (DEP) before being eligible to submit a membership application. This is to ensure our squadron is a good fit for you, and to await for the next Basic Training Cycle (BTC) to begin.
DEP is a program designed to introduce prospective cadets to CAP and to our squadron. During this time, there will be short classes and activities to briefly highlight different facets of CAP. BTC is a program designed to train cadets and provide a solid foundation for the rest of their cadet career. Topics range from basic drill, military discipline/customs and courtesies, to aerospace and leadership. Upon completion of all course requirements, cadets will be promoted from Cadet Airman Basic (C/AB) to Cadet Airman (C/Amn) and transferred to a flight.
During DEP, you should receive the How to Join B-CC Handout and The Parents Guide, which includes instructions on how to become a member.
All prospective senior members will need to attend 3 squadron meetings before being eligible to join. During this time, prospective members will get to know the senior membership, especially current members who hold similar interests to see if we are the right fit for you.
Please read the How to Join B-CC Handout for Senior Members for application details.
